Intermezzo is scored for keyboard, wired (or synthetic) choir, narrator and electronics (the choir consisting of 8 singers can be replaced by sampled voices). ‘Wired’ refers to the interaction between the computer and the choir (the singers reproduce the pitches they hear in headphones).

Intermezzo is 17.5 minutes long, and being the longest part of the opera, represents the psychological climax of the opera (to be continued).
